Much overeating takes place with a lack of connection between mind and body; the mind can simply ‘shut down’ during an eating episode (a binge). We do not want to think about what we are doing. We eat to tune out, numb pain, escape unpleasant feelings. We chomp down a bag of potato chips to crunch out anger, soothe loneliness with ice cream. With mindfulness, developed through Yoga Lite, we are able to stop the cycle.
